Choosing the correct Generator.
We often get asked what "tool or appliance" will run off a generator. This is a difficult question to answer accurately as all Tools, Appliances etc use different wattages. It would be more accurate if you went the manufacturer of your specific tool or appliance and asked them what generator will I require to run my tool or appliance. In any case a general rule (approximation) of usage rates can be calculated by working out how many watts your "tool or appliance" uses. For example a certain power tool may use 500 watts during normal operation, however you will need to triple this wattage to calculate (approx) the wattage the unit will use during start up. Any item will always use at least 3 times it's normal wattage during it's startup. So if a tool or appliance uses 500 watts durning normal running then it will require 1500 watts on startup.
